Satellite TV Technician

AEI, Dish Network's Regional Service Provider in Wisconsin and Michigan, is currently hiring in Alpena and the surrounding area.
Full-time technicians of AEI are given a company van and are routed to work orders in the area around their home each day via a company tablet. Based on their home addresses, technicians in the area report to the branch office in Grayling bi-weekly for their equipment and meeting.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
AEI technicians are responsible for installing, upgrading, and repairing Dish Network's satellite-based television services in the customers' homes as well as providing Best in Class customer service to each customer throughout the day.
Requirements and
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older. Must possess a valid driver's license and High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be able to lift over 70 lbs at times (ladder). Possess a working knowledge of power tools. Familiarity with running/splicing coaxial cable or other telecommunications is a plus. Ability to work independently, stand for long periods of time on a ladder or roof, work in small spaces, work in all climates/weather conditions.
Training:
Technicians receive completely paid training for one week at our corporate training facility in Green Bay, WI (travel, lodging, food also included) followed by 2-3 weeks training in the field with a certified trainer technician back at their respective offices.
Schedule:
In the fall/winter/spring, technicians work 45-50 hours per week-- the peak summer season yields 50-60 hours per week. As Dish's RSP, AEI is required to be open 365 days a year, including weekends and holidays, however technicians are typically scheduled either Saturday OR Sunday, not both. Scheduling on holidays are dependent on how many customers have scheduled their work orders for those days. For example, Thanksgiving is usually scheduled on a voluntary basis or is a lighter workload, depending on how many customers schedule their work orders that day.
Pay:
Technicians are paid a base rate of $12/hr through training. Once it is beneficial to the technician, the pay structure is changed to a system called Unit Pay (a paid-per-job structure where larger jobs pay more than the smaller ones). Rate per unit is dependent on the technician's productivity and work quality. As a result, first year technicians average $35k-$40k and second year technicians average $50k simply due to increased performance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
