Position Summary
This position, independently or in consultation with a physician, administers medications, performs various types of diagnostic testing for and of the cardio-pulmonary system, responds to arrest and emergency situations for diagnostic support.
(50%) Must know the procedure and proper function of equipment used in the performance of Electrocardiograms (ECGs), holter monitors, event monitors, six-minute walks, tilt table and cardiac stress testing, as well as the actions of
edications administered to each patient.
(25%) Explains the procedure to patient then performs or assists in the performance of the procedure when applicable, while observing for any changes in patient's condition during the procedure.
(15%) Obtains physician's order for the procedure and completes all necessary documentation and charges.
(10%) Scans holter recordings and prepares composite report for physician over read.
Transports patient to and from the department via wheelchair or stretcher as required.
Maintains equipment in good working order, which includes its cleaning, ordering of disposables and general day to day maintenance of the equipment to insure it's proper function.
Assesses levels of stock, reorders as necessary, puts stock away, and stocks patient care areas related to testing to insure adequate levels of stock are available.
Provides supplemental oxygen throughout the hospital and maintains and changes equipment.
Maintains inpatient charts and clarifies physician's orders for the department. Performs chart auditing and participates in the quality assurance program.
Helps in ensuring department competency for other staff, in the placement of ECG electrodes and troubleshooting of related equipment.
Performs procedures and related tasks as requested by direct supervisor or designee.
Performs other diagnostic procedures as required.
High School Diploma or GED
Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
ExerciseSpecialist or LPN, CRTT, RRT, experience in ECG
Competent in ECG rhythm recognition (must attend Basic Cardiac Monitoring class when first offered after hire and pass monitor test with 80% or greater within 30 days of the class).
Previous direct patient care experience required.
Demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in obtaining vital signs required.
Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
Two (2) years clinical experience working in medical center or similar setting.
Physical/Mental Requirements and Working Conditions
Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death.
Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MidMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
Physical Demand Level: Light. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 11-20 lbs., frequently (34-66% of the workday) 10 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
